Fonctions principales

  • Develop GIS workspaces that are accessible to users based in multiple locations
  • Innovate new and improved systems for multiple exploration teams to share data and collaborate
  • Maintain and update exploration geospatial datasets
  • Produce or guide production of technical and presentation-quality maps
  • Maintain familiarity with advances in GIS trends and advances applicable to mineral exploration
  • Upgrade the technical capabilities of the Company’s geologists to efficiently access and utilize geospatial data
  • Provide GIS support and technical training to Company employees
  • Recommend innovative hardware and software solutions to streamline exploration tasks, and implement these solutions where appropriate
  • Develop and implement Company-wide standards for our GIS and 3D modelling platforms and products

Exigences

  • A degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or a similar field of study
  • A diploma, or equivalent education, in GIS technology
  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
  • A thorough understanding of best exploration practices relating to geospatial data collection and management
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of multiple GIS platforms, and implementation of practical GIS solutions to common exploration tasks; experience with Seequent Leapfrog and Central is an asset
  • A demonstrated understanding of common aspects of exploration fieldwork including mapping, sampling, core logging, land tenure management, and data compilation
  • Aptitude and willingness to transfer knowledge to other team members
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make recommendations to senior management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment
  • Excellent written & verbal English skills are mandatory; French language abilities are an asset
